Four rushed to hospital with 'serious injuries' after crash with road still closed

Four people were rushed to hospital this afternoon with 'serious injuries' after a crash in Bromley Cross, Bolton. Emergency services were called just before midday to the smash on Darwen Road.

The road has been closed for the whole afternoon while police, ambulance, and the fire service attended the incident. Serious Collision Investigation Unit officers from Greater Manchester Police were confirmed to have been at the scene.

Two air ambulances were called to the incident. North West Ambulance Service say they were called just before midday and rushed four people to hospital with 'serious injuries'. We sent a number of resources to scene including four ambulances, three rapid response ambulances and two air ambulances. "We treated four patients with serious injuries and took them to hospital, three to Salford Royal and one to Royal Bolton." People were urged to avoid the area while emergency services attended.
