Former Rangers Academy coach Steven Mundell embarked on the job of a lifetime when he packed his boots and headed to China.

A position as head of coaching at the main football performance school in Chongqing provided not only a step up from the Rotherham Academy where he’d spent the past two years - it was an exciting new lifestyle too.But just four weeks later and as he began to find his feet in his new surroundings the thrill was whipped from right under those size nines.

Quarantined for six weeks in his high-rise apartment as the country went into lockdown amid the first serious outbreak of coronavirus, the 34-year-old was shut off from the world and 5000 miles from his family and fiancee Ashley back in Scotland.
