Former Manchester United transfer target Jurrien Timber has confirmed that he is open to the possibility of leaving Ajax this forthcoming summer.
The defender, who can operate at either right-back or centre-back, was earmarked as United's priority defensive target ahead of the start of the campaign, as manager Erik ten Hag targeted a reunion with the Dutchman.
However, it became clear that Ajax were not prepared to let go of the 21-year-old without a fight, meaning the Reds focused their efforts on alternative options.
Timber, who made 74 first-team appearances under Ten Hag, then signed a contract extension at the Johan Cruyff Arena later in the summer, committing his future to the club until the summer of 2025.
