Former Home and Away star Dieter Brummer had ditched acting for very different career

He was the instantly recognisable 90’s heartthrob known to his legions of Home and Away as Shane Parris. But Dieter Brummer the actor who played Shane opted to forsake life in front of the camera for an entirely different career path.

The TV star who was found dead over the weekend, had nothing to do with the world of acting after leaving the famous soap. Instead, he set up his own window cleaning business.

Speaking to Australian TV in 2020 he explained: ‘People say that I’m just a window cleaner, in reality, its substantially more involved than that-working at heights is a relatively specialist trade.

I just wanted to get a bit of real-life experience under my belt, but I’d always intended on coming back to the acting game at some point.
