Former gambling addict spent thousands after £70k transferred to RBS account in error

But Andrew Harling has now been prosecuted for theft after spending the cash and trying to hide the money in different accounts.

Harling splurged on luxuries despite knowing the money wasn't his as his partner also forked out on jewellery and holidays with cash he had transferred.

A court heard it had been sent by a company due to a clerical error in which one number of a sort code had been entered incorrectly, Chronicle Live reports.
