In a tragic turn of events, a British-born former child star, who was blind and had cerebral palsy, has died in the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.
His mother, Shelley Sykes, has claimed that his death could have been prevented. Amidst the widespread chaos, Shelley, with a broken arm, desperately tried to call emergency services but couldn't get through.
Recounting the harrowing experience, she revealed her son's last words: "He said, 'Mum, leave me', and no mum can leave their kid, and I've got a broken arm.
I couldn't lift him. I couldn't move him. He was my baby, and he died needlessly. Guess what didn't work? 911. All the phone lines were down." Despite driving to her local fire station for help, they reportedly had 'no water' to assist. "When the fire department brought me back, his cottage was burned to the ground," she said.
