The UK Foreign Office has issued a travel warning to anyone heading to Greece this summer. The Government alert comes as temperatures have soared across southern Europe, with heatwaves in many popular British family holiday hotspots such as in Spain, Italy and Greece.
Multiple wildfires have now broken out across Greece in recent days as the intense heat has seen temperatures exceed the 40C mark.
In some areas, such as the island of Rhodes, hotels and resorts are now being evacuated as wildfires intensify. The large blaze on the Greek island is now into its fifth day as firefighters battle to bring it under control, reports The Mirror.
