Firefighters descended on an Aldi supermarket while roads have been covered in floodwater as heavy rain has battered the region.
Greater Manchester is braced for wild winds and more rainfall this evening (December 9), with two Met Office weather warnings in effect for some areas.
Other parts of the region have been hit with either a red flood warning or an amber flood alert by the Environment Agency. In Horwich, near Bolton, residents in an area near Pearl Brook have been told to 'act now' with a flood warning in place.
The warning covers an area including Mason Street, where the town's Aldi supermarket was affected by flooding earlier, at the loading bay outside the store.
