Drivers in Rochdale could be fined for "moving traffic offences" around the borough as part of a new scheme due to come into force by summer.
Under new powers granted to the local authority, the council is looking to crack down on rule-breaking drivers in five initial areas with the ability to expand the scheme in future.
It follows a trial of the new powers at the existing yellow box junction at the intersection of St. Mary’s Gate (A58) and Whitworth Road (A671). The five initial locations shortlisted by the council are: The areas will be monitored by "means of camera or other prescribed observation methods", according to the report.
