Scots have been warned that flooding could occur across the country with a number of alerts issued. The Scottish Environment Protection Agency has issued five flood alerts and one flood warning covering areas including Ayrshire, Tayside and the Borders.
It comes ahead of forecasts for heavy rain which will impact parts of Scotland today. Flood alerts indicate that a flood could occur and allow communities to prepare.
While flood warnings suggest that the chances of flooding are greater, it does not guarantee that it will happen. SEPA has issued five flood alerts across Scotland, with areas near the Borders and in the Central Belt both affected.
Areas impacted are as follows:As well as the alerts, one area in Tayside - Innerpeffray to Bridge of Earn - has been placed under a flood warning.
