After working on three albums and writing some of the band's most renown tunes, including Albatross, Black Woman Magic, and Man of the World, Peter left the band in 1970.

Over the years, Fleetwood Mac recruited artists Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and more. Peter and the other members of the band were so instrumental to rock music, they wer inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.

Following the news of Peter's death, fellow original band member Mick shared a touching tribute to the rocker, who he called his "dearest friend" on Facebook. "For me, and every past and present member of Fleetwood Mac, losing Peter Green is monumental," Fleetwood wrote. "Peter was the man who started the band Fleetwood Mac along.
