First print competition for Motherwell Photo Society members

The judging of the first print competition of the season took place at the latest meeting of Motherwell Photographic Society.Due to illness, judge Libby Smith from Carluke Camera Club could not be there in person but supplied the club with her scores.Unfortunately, there were no entries in the beginner’s section so the sections being judged were the advanced landscape and general section and the advanced portrait section.The members viewed the prints giving their own opinions on each one.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

In the advanced landscape and general section, the winner was Linda Greenhill with “Trio”. Sharing second place was Rodger Shearer with “The Leap” and Linda Greenhill with “View from the Vennel”.In joint third place was Rodger Shearer with “Stormy Waters” and Linda Greenhill with “Red Squirrel”.

In the advanced portrait section Linda Greenhill was awarded first place with “The Chesterfield”.Linda was also in second and third place with “The Nurse Will See You Now” and “Gym Ready” respectively.The club will not meet on Thursday, October 17, as Holytown Community Centre will be closed due to the October school holiday.The next meeting will be on Thursday, October 24, when club Vice-President Rodger Shearer will give a presentation called
