in Gorton which runs from the city centre to Tameside. As part of the work, a 19th century steel former railway bridge which crossed the road, and was part of the Fallowfield Loop walking and cycling route, was removed.It is to be a replaced by a brand new bespoke designed green footbridge for walkers and cyclists.
And the Manchester Evening News has been given a glimpse of it at the factory waiting to be installed at the end of the month.
Weather permitting, the operation to install the new bridge is due to take place on Saturday 27 June and Sunday 28 June, it has been confirmed.The complex operation is set to start at 6am on the Saturday continuing right through until midnight on the Sunday.There will be a full closure of Hyde Road.
