William Hill have suspended betting on the Arctic Monkeys headlining Glastonbury next year. A flood of activity saw the band’s odds crash from 6/1 to 6/4, and the bookmaker has now frozen all further bets on the Arctic Monkeys being booked for a top slot on the Pyramid Stage.
Of the other leading contenders, there has been strong support for Sir Elton John and Harry Styles, with the former backed into 6/4 from 6/1, while Styles is 2/1 from 13/2.
b William Hill spokesperson, Tony Kenny, said: “Punters believe one of the headliners at next year’s Glastonbury is already confirmed with Arctic Monkeys backed off the boards over the past 24 hours. “The level of bets were so significant that we’ve decided to suspend betting on them, although interestingly they’re not the only two contenders we’ve seen strong support for. " He added: “There’s also been good money for Sir Elton John and Harry Styles at 6/4 and 2/1 respectively, with both looking strong contenders to be at Worthy Farm in 2023.
