Two firefighters in Lancashire are hoping to reverse the ‘bad press’ in their hometown by opening a new café bar together. David Loney and Aaron Goult opened The Station Brew on Market Street in Bacup at the end of last month (June 25) and has been a big hit with residents since its first day.

My vision for the future is for Bacup to be up and coming. Seeing the shop lit up at night was such a proud moment and cathartic moment.” The Station Brew takes over the premises of the former Street Food Kitchen site and the team spent months refurbishing it before opening.

The venue’s menu serves breakfast, paninis, toasties, pizzas and drinks. "The nice little town of Bacup gets overlooked all the time and we hope opening this business is a revolution for the town,” David added. “It deserves more than derelict buildings on every view. “So far we have received fantastic feedback from our customers who love the decor and the food and we hope to support other businesses.”
