Fiorentina chief Joe Barone has confirmed that the Italian club will not stop Sofyan Amrabat from leaving the club ahead of the window closing next week.
The Moroccan has been linked with a move to United as they look to beef up their midfield options ahead of the transfer deadline.
While another midfield signing would definitely help Erik ten Hag's rebuild at Old Trafford, reports in the Italian media suggesting Amrabat is a top target for United are understood to have been overstated.
United, who were defeated 2-0 by Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, clearly need to add some more defensive nous to their midfield options to provide both competition and cover for Casemiro.
