The final group of tenants has moved in to North Lanarkshire’s newest council housing development, marking completion of the 150-home estate which is the largest to date in the authority’s construction programme.New neighbours are settling in to the final 53 properties to be completed at the £25.5 million Dykehead Road development in Airdrie – formerly the site of high-rise blocks Cheviot, Merrick and Pentland Courts.It comes four years after the first demolition works began on the eight-storey towers; and takes the total number of houses completed under the council’s housebuilding scheme to nearly 1500 of the 5000 being targeted by 2035.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
