We witnessed her powering through the most terrifying trials and tribulations that the Australian jungle could throw at her, and we've seen her tirelessly hold her own against some of Essex's most intimidating characters, but now TOWIE's Ferne McCann has faced her toughest challenge yet - Celebrity SAS.
Joining a whole new line-up of famous faces, reality star Ferne, 32, embarked in the upcoming series of the Channel 4 hit, describing the experience as 'once in a lifetime', but admitting that leaving her daughter Sunday behind was the most difficult task of all.
Catching up with OK! and other press ahead of the premiere this weekend, Ferne explained what drew her to take part in the show telling us: "I really wanted to go in to be an inspiration for my daughter Sunday, so that one day, when she gets to an age where she can watch this back, she’s like ‘Yes, that’s my mum and she’s an absolute boss’." She adds: "I wanted to prove to myself and others that I was capable of much more than I thought I was.
I’d done that endurance of labour when I was having Sunday, so I know about a light at the end of the tunnel in terms of pain, so I could draw on that experience." Mother-of-one Ferne also opened up feeling 'mum guilt' after having left her four-year-old daughter - whom she shares with incarcerated ex-partner Arthur Collins - with family on her birthday in order to take part in the show. "Sunday had her 4th birthday when I was doing the course.
