Former This Morning star Fern Britton has been targeted by a stalker's "scary and disturbing campaign". James Haviland, 63, drove 200 miles to stay in 66-year-old Fern's holiday cottage in the village where she lived and last week admitted he'd stalked her for two years.
James, of Basingstoke, started by sending TV star Fern flowers and cards before embarking on a 200 mile journey to be close to her - staying in the village she lives - Cornwall's Padstow - a total of four times, according to The Sun.
He spent a week renting Fern's Cornwall holiday cottage and even tried to book the property again in November. However, he was reported to the police.
Fern moved from Buckinghamshire to Cornwall in 2020 and credited the tourist hotspot with helping her heal after the death of her parents.
