This Morning star reveals terrifying stalking ordeal - 'It was like Baby Reindeer'

This Morning presenter Matthew Wright has opened up about his own terrifying stalking ordeal to Lorraine Kelly. During a segment on Lorraine on Wednesday 22 May, Matthew retold the story of how he was stalked seven years ago.

He also explained how the hit Netflix series brought back memories of his own experience. Whilst Matthew and lead character Donny’s experiences were very different, Matthew explained the final straw for him was when his stalker came to the house but insists he didn’t want them “sent to prison”.The stalking occurred between 2017 and 2018 and was finally brought to an end the following year.

Matthew explained to Lorraine that at the beginning, the police’s response was “inadequate” - just like it had been at first in Baby Reindeer.

But Matthew insists that as things “snowballed” the “police became much more involved.” The stalking when the perpetrator was barred from being a guest in the audience of Matthew’s chat show due to security concerns about her behaviour towards the presenter.
