Favourite Lanarkshire pub of ex-Celtic star Kieran Tierney torched as police probe 'wilful' fire

A Lanarkshire pub, that was once a favourite of former Celtic star Kieran Tierney, has caught fire this afternoon.Fire crews raced to the now closed down Bullfrog on Shields Road in Motherwell after the alarm was raised at around 3.45pm on Sunday.

Footage taken from the scene showed huge plumes of smoke billowing up into the sky.The clip, which was taken from a set of high-rise flats some distance from the pub, appeared to show the building engulfed in flames.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent two appliances to the scene and they currently remain in attendance.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
