For 160 years this farmhouse has stood proudly on the landscape - home to generations of families. But 40 years ago the impressive white-washed building was left abandoned with only the ghosts of those who lived before now walking through its room.
The house in Long Island, New York, in the US, was built before the American Civil War, and was given its name by long-time resident, Marion Carll, who moved in in 1885.
Marion was a school teacher who dedicated her life to serving the community she lived in. She worked in New York and the town of Commack but remained in the farmhouse all her life.
For 25 years she was Commack's District’s Treasurer and Census Taker and devoted her time to organising the area's first Parent Teach Council.
