Liam James Payne (born 29 August 1993) is an English singer and songwriter.
He rose to fame as a member of the boy band One Direction.
Payne made his debut as a singer when he auditioned for the British television series The X Factor in 2008. After being eliminated as a solo performer, he auditioned again in 2010 and was put into a group with four other contestants to form One Direction

"Well, my older brother and I had been planning a trip to Dublin for a while, and I knew I was gonna try and come to London at some point at the end of the trip, but when I woke up and heard the news, I was like, ‘okay, I’ll just go a day earlier (and) try and figure (it) out," she said.
In the wake of the tragedy, Liam's father Geoff Payne flew to Buenos Aires to oversee the return of his son's body, visiting the Casa Sur Hotel where the incident occurred and reading messages from fans.
Lauren Anderson and Natasha Bradley, both 23, shared their experiences of coping with the loss together while speaking to PA in Hyde Park. "Lauren’s been the one that I’ve been speaking to the most about it", said Natasha, expressing her need to be around those who could relate to her feelings, as she felt parents couldn't fully grasp the depth of their impact on their children's lives.
