Famous Scots family set to visit 120 distilleries to raise money for charity

A world record-breaking Scots family are set to take on a gruelling 2000-mile challenge over land and sea to raise money for charity.

Brothers Ewan, Jamie and Lachlan Maclean alongside their dad Charles Maclean MBE are planning to visit all 120 distilleries across Scotland to raise money for the Maclean Foundation.The foundation was founded by the brothers to raise funds for clean water projects in developing countries.

The brothers previously spent 35 days at sea in 2020, raising more than £205,000 when they became the first three brothers to row any ocean and broke the record for the fastest and youngest trio to row across the Atlantic Ocean.Now the trio are planning to cycle over 2000 miles by bike and swim 150 nautical miles across challenging water to visit every distillery in Scotland.

Youngest brother Lachlan, who now lives in Glasgow says the challenge was inspired after the brothers became ill after drinking dirty in Madagascar, he said: "When we returned from our trip, the importance of clean water became clear.
