Mercy Baguma in her native Uganda has been cancelled by her family as they await more details of her death. The body of the 34-year-old refugee, from Uganda, had been found in her flat in Govan next to her crying and malnourished baby boy on August 22.

She was said to be in 'extreme poverty' and relying on food parcels to survive while friends said they had not seen her in days.

Her death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious. Now the BBC has reported an interview with her father, Abdul Nakendo, who said a planned service in her home town of Bugiri would not go ahead on Saturday morning.
