Family of carer 'stabbed to death' at facility say 'no one should go to work and not come home'

The family of a Scots carer who died after allegedly being stabbed at a residential facility for vulnerable adults say “no one should go to work and not come home”.

The 54-year-old, named locally as Michele Rutherford, was badly injured during a reported ‘disturbance’ at Craighall Court in Stirling on Tuesday morning.

Michele is understood to have been the care home manager since 2013.She was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment but sadly passed away a short time later.

Two other women, aged 29 and 58, who are understood to be co-workers of Michele, were also hurt during the incident.A 32-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the death and serious assaults.
