A British family said they were left ‘appalled’ after their bill for four drinks and a side dish at a popular tourist restaurant in Greece came to more than £300.
The family, who have not been named, said they visited the Eclipse restaurant on Platis Gialos beach in Mykonos during a recent holiday.
Having ordered one beer, one mojito, two milkshakes, one Greek salad, bread and one portion of calamari, they said they were shocked when they got the €360 (£309) bill back for their order.
They have now shared a copy of the receipt online, which showed that the calamari cost around £64 on its own, in a bid to warn other tourists from getting ‘cheated’ by inflated prices. "This is to help everyone and not get the feeling of being cheated,” the post on Reddit said, as reported by The Mirror. “We were walking to find a spot in front of the beach at Platis Gialos and there are many restaurants with beach furniture in front of the beaches. "As we were walking, a waiter at Eclipse told us we could use their cabanas or loungers provided we bought two drinks.
