Two teenagers have been stabbed to death on Greater Manchester's streets in the past week. The boys are the latest victims of the knife crime epidemic gripping our region. "Cheeky chappy" Kennie Carter died after been stabbed in Stretford.

On Sunday the body of a 17-year-old boy was found in Clowes Park, Salford. Kennie's killing happened just a day after two 15-year-old boys were jailed for the "senseless" murder and manslaughter of Bolton schoolboy Reece Tansey.

Most urban police force areas saw a reduction in knife offences in 2020-21 due to the coronavirus lockdowns, but in Greater Manchester they went up 4 per cent.
