A group of health experts have warned those who use e-cigarettes to look out for a new health condition dubbed 'vape tongue'.The rapid rise of popularity in e-cigarettes has sparked concerns about public health in recent years, as long-term damage to the respiratory system remains unknown.The Mirror reports that there are also fears surrounding the amount of children attracted to disposable vapes, due to the fruity flavours and bright colours.

Doctor McKean, a health professional at the Great North Children's Hospital in Newcastle, has reported an increase in the number of kids developing lung conditions that are related to vape smoking.Now, a dentist has taken to social media app, TikTok, to raise awareness around the condition known as 'vape tongue'.Dr Stewart captioned his video: "Do you vape?

You might have vaper's tongue."In the video, he said: "Vape tongue is when you start to lose your taste because you've been vaping so much, and this is really on the rise because of the popularity of these disposable vapes which have all these ridiculous flavours."Symptoms of 'vape tongue' include:The condition can even impact people's taste generally, meaning food will not have as much taste as normal.According to Fisher Pointe Dental: "Vaping can also cause a stuffy nose and negatively impact your ability to smell, and being able to smell goes hand in hand with your ability to taste."People end up absolutely caning these vapes and it causes such a massive increase in nicotine and a really really dry mouth that you lose your sense of taste completely sometimes."However, Dr Stewart also noted that things aren't all negative, as when people "start to cut down the vaping", then their taste returns.
