Summer is about to take a sudden turn, with temperatures expected to plummet by 8C in the upcoming week. The latest Ventusky weather map for Tuesday, September 3, paints most of the UK in an eerie yellow shade, indicating widespread fog.
We're set to experience thick fog on several occasions next week, with Tuesday predicted to be the worst. The thickest fog is expected across mid Wales, where temperatures are forecasted to drop to around 15C - a significant decrease from Monday's high of 23C recorded in Writtle, Essex.
Rain is also on the cards, particularly across mid and south Wales, and Southwest England, throughout Tuesday. "Weak frontal systems could still provide some cloud and patchy outbreaks of rain at times, this most likely in northwestern areas, and there is a chance of some heavy thundery showers and more humid conditions in the south too," says the Met Office's website for the period from Sunday, September 1 to Tuesday, September 10. "The mostly settled conditions are expected to then win out, with high pressure building in from the southwest once more, with the chance of seeing a more widely showery spell towards the end of this period considered low." Forecasters suggest that the unsettled and foggy start to September follows a brief warm spell to end August, reports Chronicle Live.
It's believed that it will be warmer than Morocco as early as this week, according to meteorologists, but it just won't last.
