Gerard Pique says former Bolton Wanderers and Real Madrid defender Fernando Hierro was his favourite player as a child as he highlighted Manchester United and Barcelona legends too as big influences.
The 35-year-old has been with boyhood club Barca since 2008, after he moved back to the Catalan giants from United, who had signed him as a youngster following his release from the Camp Nou.
Pique won the Premier League and Champions League in 2008 with United before moving back to his native Spain. He has won all the top honours in the game with both club and country since then. The centre half has spoken of his favourite players as a youngster and pinpointed former Real and Bolton defender Hierro as the one he looked up to in his youth.
