A pop-up DJ set which was preparing to take over Ayr Central Shopping mall has been scrapped due to 'overwhelming demand'.Hometown boy Ewan McVicar was lining up to appear in the town's Unique clothing store tomorrow evening for the one-off gig.
But after a stampede of interest from fans, store bosses have tonight confirmed the gig has been pulled. The event - heralded as a ‘Pavilion Party Pop-Up’ - was advertising access on a first come, first served basis to Ewan's army of fans.
It follows his massive success in bringing the Pavilion Festival to Ayr earlier this year in an event which drew thousands to the town.Ewan, the man behind top anthem 'Tell Me Something Good,' was set to play an exclusive one hour set ahead of the Festival hyping its return on the iconic Ayr Beach next year. But in a message posted tonight, Unique confirmed: "Due to overwhelming demand, we regretfully have to cancel the Ewan McVicar pop-up DJ set tomorrow as we simply cannot accomodate the large number.
We apologise for any disappointment this will cause. Please keep an eye on Ewan's socials for updates on this event." Read next: Don't miss the latest Ayrshire headlines – sign up to our free daily newsletter
