A horrified relative has blasted the “evil and relentless” social worker who fleeced a widow with dementia out of £727,000. Hilary Tideswell, 63, raided £527,000 from the account of vulnerable Constance Lupton and spent it on cruise holidays, two Rolex watches and giving cash to her husband and son.
She shunted Constance into a care home when she was 81 and later faked paperwork to sell the pensioner’s house for £200,000.
Tideswell – who stole £27,000 from a second victim, aged 74 – was this month jailed for seven years and nine months at Leeds Crown Court.
Today, Constance’s great-niece Elise Gaylie, 45, tells of her disgust at learning the full extent of conniving Tideswell’s crimes.
