Theme parks have become so big these days that many people decide to turn the experience into a short break. And when you've got places like Alton Towers offering a second day free for anyone who stays over, it often makes more sense to maximise your time at the attraction.

With so many rides to enjoy, including the new Nemesis Reborn, as well as all the entertainment and the popular CBeebies Land, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and has a whole host of activities taking place over May half term, there are more reasons to head there than ever. Among the themed rooms inside the Alton Towers Hotel there's Gangsta Granny Room, a Chocolate Room, Coca-Cola Room, 'a girlie' Sleepover Room for groups of up to six, and The Smiler Room, with bright yellow walls and a swirly patterned black and white carpet reflecting the colours of the roller coaster.

Inside CBeebies Land Hotel, the rooms are themed around many of the much-loved shows, from Octonauts and Postman Pat to In The Night Garden, Bing and Something Special.
