Jurassic Park (and later known as Jurassic World) is one of the most beloved film franchises in movie history.
The franchise was created by Michael Crichton, and is based on a failed attempt to launch a theme park made up of cloned dinosaurs.
It all started in 1990 when Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment bought the rights to his novel Jurassic Park before it was published, leading to Steven Spielberg‘s 1993 original. Michael‘s 1995 sequel novel, The Lost World, was followed by a 1997 film adaptation, also directed by Steven Spielberg.
A film franchise was then born including Jurassic Park III. In 2015, a second trilogy of films began with the fourth film in the series, Jurassic World, followed by Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) and Jurassic World Dominion (2022).
