Either Liverpool or Glasgow is set to host the Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of Ukraine next year, it has been announced.
Ukraine, who had this year's winning act Kalush Orchestra, have been left unable to host next year due to the country's ongoing war with Russia.
With the UK coming in second place in the 2022 contest, it was decided that we will host the competition for them. Now, it's been revealed that either Liverpool or Glasgow will be the lucky city where contestants across Europe and beyond will travel and do their best to wow the crowds.
Phil Harrold, the chairman of the BBC’s host city selection committee, said: “Thanks to all seven cities across the UK who have demonstrated the enthusiasm and passion for Eurovision that exists right across the UK. “We were incredibly impressed by the quality and creativity of all the city bids in what was a highly competitive field.
