Six parts of Greater Manchester have been identified as first-time buyer hotspots in 2025. With many young people finding it increasingly difficult to get on the property ladder, a local expert has offered his advice to new house-hunters looking to buy this year.

Greg Davies, who is a senior branch manager for estate agents Reeds Rains' Manchester and Salford Quays branches, has recommended the main areas that are set to be popular with first-time buyers this year.

Sharing his advice, Greg told the Manchester Evening News: "The best bit of advice I would offer is to be prepared. Quality property in popular areas of Greater Manchester continues to experience very high demand from buyers of all types and therefore making sure you appear as a serious buyer who is ready to proceed promptly is imperative. "Make sure you have an up-to-date agreement in principle (also known as a decision in principle or mortgage in principle) from your mortgage advisor or lender.

You'll also need to provide proof of deposit funds readily so have access to statements or screenshots to show these funds are available. "Lastly, have a conveyancer or solicitor in place along with the name of the case handler and their contact details.
