Emmerdale's Daisy Campbell might be heading to a competing soap after her unexpected departure from the show. The star, who became a household name as Amelia Spencer on the ITV soap since her debut in 2011, has been at the centre of major storylines.Currently, her character is entangled with villainous Tom King (played by James Chase), who previously abused his wife Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) earlier in the year, leading to Belle's eventual exit from him. However, in a surprising turn of events this October, it was announced that the showrunners decided to write out Amelia, a move that left Daisy, aged 21, "grieving" over the sudden change.
In an interview with the Mirror, she expressed her shock: "It wasn't my choice to leave Emmerdale and it was a shock at first." Daisy continued, reflecting on her time with the soap: "Being in Emmerdale is all I have ever known.
I've spent the whole of my childhood growing up in the soap and it felt daunting."She also shared some relief that her character won't meet a fatal end, saying: "I am pleased the door is being left open.
But I can't say too much about how she leaves."A PR specialist has now highlighted that Daisy is approaching an "exciting next chapter in her career" and hinted that she could soon land a part on another soap, reports Leeds Live.Dom Aldworth, Head of Brand Marketing at Slingo, suggested that moving to another British soap could be a natural progression for Amelia.
