Emmerdale's James Chase might be heading to a competing soap after his departure from the village. James made his first appearance in the soap world in 2023, playing the role of Carl King's (Tom Lister) son.

He quickly developed a romantic relationship with Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper). However, the past year has seen the soap tackle a distressing domestic abuse storyline.

Viewers have been horrified as they watched Tom torment Belle, manipulating and controlling her every action. In one shocking scene, Belle defended herself by attacking Tom with an axe.

Initially hesitant, Belle eventually reported Tom to the police for his months of abuse. Believing he could escape punishment, Tom hastily got rid of his tablet, which held damning evidence, reports Leeds Live.
