Emmerdale actress Beth Cordingly has opened up about her character Ruby's forthcoming storyline on the ITV soap, which delves into the traumatic experience of sexual abuse inflicted by her father, Anthony.
This week's episodes will show Ruby grappling with the decision to reveal the results of a DNA test that will determine whether her husband, Caleb (Will Ash), or her father is the biological father of her daughter, Steph.
Discussing Ruby's plight ahead of the upcoming episodes, Beth shared that Ruby yearns for reassurance that her deepest fear - Steph being her father's child - is unfounded. "She wants that reassurance so she can move on.
But she's always had the fear, from the minute she got pregnant, that the baby may not be Caleb's. She didn't deceive him, she just desperately wanted it to be his," Beth explained.
