The distraught parents of a talented young actress are calling for the government to take urgent action after her fatal blood clot was mistaken for long covid and anxiety.

Emily Chesterton was just 30-years-old when she tragically suffered a cardiac arrest - having visited her local doctor's surgery on two occasions complaining of calf pain and shortness of breath.

The acting student, originally from Boothstown in Salford had moved to London to pursue her career, alongside her boyfriend, just before the start of the coronavirus pandemic. But instead, she was seen by a physician associate, who only had basic-level medical training and wasn't a qualified doctor.
