Emily Atack set to open up about experiencing online sexual harassment from a young age

Emily Atack is set to take part in a TV documentary that will focus on her experience of being targeted by sex pests. The BBC have confirmed the actress will “open up about her experiences of attracting un­wanted sexual attention”.

The BBC2 film will follow Emily, 32, as she strives to gain an understanding as to why she is sexually harassed on a daily basis.The actress and comic has revealed she has been subject to online sexual harassment from “a very young age”.

On her film, titled Emily Atack : Sexual Harrassment & Me, she said: “With this documentary, I am hoping to find answers to the many questions I’ve been asking myself my entire life, and I hope it will go on to help thousands of others too.” In the documentary, she will speak to her family about her ordeal, alongside talking to some of the men who send her explicit content, to look at the psychology of their behaviour.

The documentary will focus on harassment that takes place online, with Emily previously campaigning to ensure cyberflashing would become illegal under the Online Safety Bill.
