Emergency services blocked a main road in Heywood on Sunday evening (April 30) after a car ploughed into a house. Police, paramedics and fire crews raced to the scene of the collision on Bury and Rochdale Old Road (B6222), just after 5.45pm.
The road was closed off beside the Bird at Birtle pub and the Ashworth Road junction. One car had crashed into a house in the incident, with trauma technicians assessing one person at the scene as another was treated by paramedics. READ MORE: Join the FREE Manchester Evening News WhatsApp community A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Just after 5:45pm this evening (Sunday 30 April) we were called to the scene of a road traffic collision on Bury and Rochdale Old Road, Heywood, involving a car that had gone into a house. “One fire engine from Heywood fire station was quickly mobilised to attend.
A GMFRS trauma technician assessed one person at the scene, while another was treated by paramedics from North West Ambulance Service.
Firefighters made the area safe and were at the scene for just under an hour.” The full nature of the injuries sustained in the crash have not yet been confirmed.
