But Courts, normally head of tactical performance in the academy, has been put in charge of a new makeshift coaching team. The former Kelty Hearts manager and other youth coaches at the club will take charge of training and sit in the dugout for the trip to Livingston on Saturday.
They may then keep the reins for the visit of Rangers a week later. But he insists, with the remote guidance of manager Mellon, he is more than up to that task.
