Perth city centre on Monday morning. Police closed the street to traffic while the area was made safe.The fire happened in a residential building above Simply Brow in North Methven Street.Emergency services received a 999 call at 11.10am and Scottish Fire and Ambulance sent four appliances.The fire crews used a ladder to help a woman escape from a top floor window.Perth and Kinross councillor is “heartily sick” of virtual meetingsShe was given oxygen at the scene.Other residents were able to evacuate and a dog and a hamster were among those who were helped out of the building.Police taped off both sides of the road between 11.25am and 1pm to allow the fire crews to work from the street.Two ambulances attended and four or five police.
