In a joint message posted on social media the former couple said: ‘After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce following our separation last summer.’ Before adding: ‘We have the utmost respect for each other and remain close friends.’ A post shared by @elliotpage US showbiz website TMZ reports that Elliot, 33, has filed for divorce in New York.
The pair caught the world by surprise when they announced their marriage around New Year’s in 2018. The Umbrella Academy star was first linked with Portner, 26, in the summer of 2017.
