This is the eerie moment a depraved monster was caught on CCTV before he carried out a sickening knifepoint rape after breaking into a woman's flat as she slept.

The footage, released by Greater Manchester Police after Courtney Adams, 32, was jailed for 20 years, shows the hooded thug fleeing a burglary.

Seconds earlier, the woman inside the apartment he targeted screamed at him to leave after he slipped in through a window. Adams, from Hulme, told her to 'shut up', before she fled.

He ransacked her bedroom - taking bags, a laptop and bank cards. Cameras then captured Adams jumping over a fence as he left the Great Western Street property, on November 29 last year.
