Edwin van der Sar at Old Trafford to watch Manchester United vs Aston Villa

The Dutchman worked with Reds boss Erik ten Hag at Ajax while he was chief executive officer, a position he left in May. He was guest of honour for United’s Boxing Day clash with Aston Villa.
Van der Sar was in attendance alongside Sir Dave Brailsford, who is set to be part of the inbound Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s inner circle once his £1.3billion investment is approved by the Premier League.
Despite his previous role at Ajax and the coincidental timing of his visit amid Ratcliffe's arrival, there is no suggestion Van der Sar will join the United hierarchy.
