The Reds have now won just one of their last five Premier League outings. As a result of their underwhelming run of form United are now eighth in the table, nine points shy of the top four after Brighton & Hove Albion drew 0-0 with West Ham United on Tuesday.
United will not have the chance to start climbing back up the table until January 14, with the FA Cup third round taking centre stage this coming weekend.
