Witnesses have been left haunted by the horrifying screams of a mother whose son was killed when a car mounted a kerb and crashed into them and a charity shop.
Bystanders rushed to help the three-year-old boy and his injured mother, 37, after they were hit by a red Kia, driven by an elderly woman, on a pavement in Edinburgh.
They described an extremely distressing scene with witnesses checking on the boy, who was trapped under the car, and others trying to comfort his distraught mum.
A witness told Mirror Online she was walking along the road when she heard a "painful" and "long" scream behind her, and then turned around to see the car and the mother standing next to it.
